About the position

The Retail Assistant Manager (Ops) at Talbots is responsible for fostering a culture of exceptional customer service while supporting the store's operational needs. This role involves leading a team, achieving sales metrics, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Assistant Manager will also play a key role in training and mentoring associates, creating a positive work environment, and driving sales through effective customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Create and foster a culture of hospitality through exceptional customer experiences.
  • Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
  • Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including Clientelling/Outreach and Appointment Setting.
  • Partner with the Manager to lead the team with ownership in all areas of operations.
  • Plan, execute and lead floor sets, window displays, and interior marketing initiatives.
  • Educate, train, and reinforce brand standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Balance operational and selling energy, ensuring proper planning and scheduling to meet business needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of business and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for maximizing sales.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships that support a productive work environment.

  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays.
