About the position

The Retail Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring a customer-centric environment, and supporting the Store Manager in leading and developing store employees. This position is responsible for maximizing financial goals, managing customer relations, and ensuring compliance with asset protection protocols. The Assistant Store Manager also has the opportunity to earn commissions based on performance, making it a rewarding role for those who excel in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
  • Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, ensuring all procedures are followed for asset protection.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and enterprise-level reporting.
  • Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure that operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store's mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) months of management/3rd key experience.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Computer literate and able to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
  • Cash handling experience is required.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
