About the position

The Retail Assistant Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring a customer-centric environment, and supporting the Store Manager in leading and developing store employees. This role involves managing customer relations, analyzing financial statements, and promoting a positive work atmosphere while achieving financial goals and maximizing sales through commission-based incentives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
  • Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, ensuring all procedures are followed for asset protection.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and enterprise-level reporting.
  • Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure that operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store's mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) months of management/3rd key experience.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Computer literate and able to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
  • Cash handling experience is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
