About the position

The Retail Assistant Store Manager at Office Depot is responsible for leading and inspiring a team of associates to enhance customer experience and drive sales. This role involves working closely with the General Manager to improve store operations, particularly in areas such as copy & print, technology, and customer service. The position emphasizes creating a sales-driven atmosphere and ensuring the store runs smoothly in the absence of the General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of associates, fostering an environment of trust and exceptional service.
• Coach team members to become product experts and enhance customer engagement.
• Act as the Leader on Duty (LOD), ensuring smooth store operations when the General Manager is unavailable.
• Train and develop associates to excel in a sales-driven environment.
• Drive sales performance by focusing on customer satisfaction and conversion rates.
• Manage store operations, including inventory levels and financial controls.
• Ensure merchandise is presented attractively and planograms are followed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in management or supervisory roles in a sales-driven environment.
• Familiarity with technology and print services, with a willingness to learn.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and inspire a diverse team.
