About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at Ollie's will play a crucial role in the successful operation of the new store in McAllen, Texas. In this position, the Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for managing payroll budgets, expenses, and store banking, while also working to reduce shrinkage and complete related reports. The Assistant Store Manager will also oversee the maintenance of the store's front-end, entrance, and exterior, ensuring that they meet operational expectations. Additionally, this role involves providing daily tasks to associates, performing Team Leader functions as needed, and assisting with the hiring and onboarding processes to meet the store's staffing needs. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Team Leader with managing payroll budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and the timely completion of related reports.
  • Demonstrate Ollie's “Yes I Care, Yes I Can” behaviors in providing exceptional Associate and Customer service experiences.
  • Ensure that store standards and company programs meet all operational expectations.
  • Maintain the front-end, entrance, and exterior of the building properly.
  • Provide daily tasks to all Associates and ensure productivity.
  • Perform all Team Leader functions to open and close the store when needed.
  • Assist with maintaining proper hiring, recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of candidates.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate or bachelor's degree related to Business Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' retail management experience with a mid to large size retailer.
  • Schedule flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holiday seasonal on a regular basis.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license.
