About the position

The Retail Assistant Store Manager at PUMA plays a crucial role in ensuring high standards of customer experience and achieving sales goals. This position involves assisting the Store Manager in various operational aspects, including recruitment, training, and maintaining a profitable store environment. The role requires a strong focus on customer service and teamwork, while also managing store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistently high standards of customer experience within the Store in accordance with PUMA's Brand Values and service standards
  • Ensure the Store consistently achieves or exceeds sales, KPIs and profitability goals through effective planning and expense control
  • Assist the Store Manager with recruitment, training, development, and succession of high-performing employees
  • Manage payroll control and service-driven scheduling to maintain profitability while providing high levels of service
  • Act as Store Manager when the Store Manager is away from the store
  • Manage and monitor Loss Prevention education and awareness programs
  • Comply with all Policies & Procedures, operational core competencies, and key accountabilities
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant working and shopping environment
  • Attend off-site training and position-related meetings as required; travel may be required
  • Work non-traditional hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays; overtime may be required

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years' management experience in a focused, customer service-oriented retail environment (preferably apparel/footwear)
  • Proven ability to exceed sales goals
  • Demonstrated ability to reason through complex issues
  • Ability to present information to large groups
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Ability to lift/carry, push/pull up to 30 pounds regularly

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management
