About the position

The Retail Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers at Ross, the nation's largest off-price retailer. This position involves engaging with customers, maintaining store standards, and supporting operational goals through various tasks. Responsibilities

• Greet all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, making eye contact and smiling.
• Assist customers with merchandise and answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping.
• Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and ensure proper presentation according to company standards.
• Follow all safety protocols to create a secure shopping environment and report any unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Handle customer service calls and issues promptly and courteously, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions with customers and associates, safeguarding confidential information.
• Follow cash handling procedures accurately and maintain awareness when processing transactions.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Basic mathematical skills commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
