About the position

The Retail Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers at Ross, the nation's largest off-price retailer. This position involves engaging with customers, maintaining store standards, and supporting operational goals through various tasks. Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive shopping experience for customers by greeting them and providing assistance as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping.
• Assist customers with merchandise and answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
• Follow all company best practice standards in all work centers and maintain proper merchandise presentation.
• Respond promptly to customer service calls and handle customer issues courteously.
• Represent and support the company brand at all times, demonstrating integrity and honesty in all interactions.
• Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure the store is well-maintained and efficiently merchandised.
• Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor with urgency and according to company guidelines.
• Understand and adhere to loss prevention awareness and merchandise protection standards.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Basic mathematical skills commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a retail environment is preferred but not mandatory.
