About the position

Proof Bread, LLC is seeking dedicated Retail Bakers to join our team, both full-time and part-time. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service while engaging with customers about our artisanal sourdough products. Retail Bakers will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, performing food service production, and promoting sales through education about our unique offerings. This position is integral to fostering a positive customer experience and upholding the values of our bakery.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Educate customers on Proof products and the benefits of sourdough.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of customer areas.
• Package orders and handle ready-to-eat products according to food safety standards.
• Craft quality made-to-order coffee and tea beverages for customers.
• Operate a Point of Sale system and handle cash accurately.
• Close cash register and customer service areas according to company standards.
• Prepare leftovers and manage community donations at end-of-day closing.
• Monitor items for quality control and report any issues to management.
• Uphold cleanliness of production areas and perform facility maintenance routines.

Requirements

• Must have 2 years of verifiable customer service and cash handling experience.
• Must produce a valid ID and food handling certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs without complication.
• Must be able to stand for the entirety of a shift, up to 8 hours.
• Good multi-tasker and time manager.

Nice-to-haves

• Comprehensive understanding of and passion for sourdough.
• Experience in a bakery or food service environment.
