The Retail Bakery Manager at Cherbourg is responsible for overseeing bakery operations in Cincinnati, Ohio, ensuring exceptional service and quality in a gluten, nut, and dye-free bakery environment. This role involves managing a team of bakers and assistants, driving profitability, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction while embodying the Cherbourg brand's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of bakery operations including menu planning and analysis of sales.
• Control the food preparation process and provide direction to the team regarding recipe specifications.
• Lead by example to ensure adherence to signature recipes for quality and consistency.
• Motivate and manage a team of bakers and assistants to deliver timely baked goods.
• Coordinate staffing schedules to meet daily business demands.
• Appraise staff performance and facilitate performance management with the Owner.
• Collaborate with the Owner on staffing needs and manage recruiting and training.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies to meet sales goals.
• Report sales and profitability to the Owner weekly.
• Make recommendations to enhance bakery operations and protocols.
• Establish and enforce sanitation standards to maintain a safe environment.
• Achieve maximum customer satisfaction and develop a positive rapport with customers.
• Respond to customer complaints professionally and remedy situations effectively.
• Manage catering orders and assist customers on the floor.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar role.
• 2 years of experience as a baker, pastry chef, sous chef, or in related fields.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proven customer service experience as a manager.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
