About the position
The Retail Banker I serves as a customer liaison, integral to delivering TD's brand promise by providing financial expertise and consultative advice to customers regarding their banking needs. This role focuses on achieving business objectives through identifying appropriate TD solutions that help customers meet their financial goals and enhance their relationship with the bank. The position requires proficiency in banking products and services, ensuring a positive customer experience while engaging in sales activities and customer outreach.
Responsibilities
- Act as a customer liaison to deliver TD's brand promise.
- Utilize financial expertise to advise customers on banking solutions.
- Identify opportunities to educate customers on bank products and services.
- Make product recommendations based on customer needs.
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management tools for customer assessments and sales activities.
- Evaluate issues and problems based on existing precedents or procedures.
- Build working relationships with customers and related teams.
- Participate in customer outreach and servicing activities.
- Engage in conversations with customers about loan products and facilitate application intake.
- Maintain active registration status with NMLS.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of related experience required.
- Teller experience preferred.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, concise and clear.
- Ability to schedule and prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment in decision making and effective problem solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in English/Spanish, English/Creole, or English/French preferred.
- Notary License preferred.
