The baseball ambassador is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated athlete experience specifically to baseball players. This individual will pull from personal experiences and industry research/trends to provide strong product recommendations that align to the athlete's needs. The baseball ambassador meets the athlete where they are in their baseball journey, creating a tailored and unparalleled customer service experience; adapting sales style appropriately and leveraging in-store technology (e.g., HitTrax when applicable and appropriate) to gather data-driven insights that in turn help inform recommendations. They leverage on-the-field expertise and/or baseball knowledge to provide recommendations that meet the athlete's needs. This role translates/aligned product technology to the athlete and the position(s) they play (e.g., material of the bats, glove size by position, etc.), contributing to and enhancing the athlete's overall game day experience. The ambassador fully outfits athletes with appropriate product, equipment, and accessories to equip them for any occasion - from practice/training to game day. On occasion, the baseball ambassador participates in Diamond Sports Universities across the nation to test and learn new products in order to then share knowledge and insights with both teammates and athletes. They partner with store teammates by regularly utilizing training materials to educate others on new baseball-related products. The ambassador maintains merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Baseball Department to Company standards as directed. They adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, while maintaining confidentiality of all Company information. The baseball ambassador takes an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store and performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Provide a differentiated athlete experience specifically to baseball players.
• Create tailored customer service experiences based on the athlete's baseball journey.
• Leverage in-store technology to gather data-driven insights for product recommendations.
• Translate product technology to meet the athlete's needs based on their position.
• Fully outfit athletes with appropriate products, equipment, and accessories for various occasions.
• Participate in Diamond Sports Universities to test and learn new products.
• Educate store teammates on new baseball-related products using training materials.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage in the Baseball Department.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Support the team across the store with an all-hands-on-deck approach.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of Retail or Team Sports experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong foundational understanding of baseball and its related activities.
• Ability to build rapport with baseball players of all experience levels.
• Comfortable communicating insights to both new and seasoned players.
• Ability to align athlete's needs with appropriate products based on expertise.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in coaching or involvement in competitive baseball clubs.
• Knowledge of the latest product technology and trends in baseball.
