The baseball ambassador is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated athlete experience specifically to baseball players. This individual will pull from personal experiences and industry research/trends to provide strong product recommendations that align to the athlete's needs. The role requires meeting the athlete where they are in their baseball journey, creating a tailored and unparalleled customer service experience; adapting sales style appropriately and leveraging in-store technology (e.g., HitTrax when applicable and appropriate) to gather data-driven insights that in turn help inform recommendations. The baseball ambassador will leverage on-the-field expertise and/or baseball knowledge to provide recommendations that meet the athlete's needs. This includes translating and aligning product technology to the athlete and the position(s) they play (e.g., material of the bats, glove size by position, etc.), contributing to and enhancing the athlete's overall game day experience. The ambassador will fully outfit athletes with appropriate product, equipment, and accessories to equip them for any occasion - from practice/training to game day. On occasion, they will participate in Diamond Sports Universities across the nation to test and learn new products in order to then share knowledge and insights with both teammates and athletes. Additionally, the baseball ambassador will partner with store teammates by regularly utilizing training materials to educate others on new baseball-related products. They will maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Baseball Department to Company standards as directed. Adherence to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures is essential. The ambassador will maintain confidentiality of all Company information and take an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store. Other tasks may be assigned by management as needed.

Responsibilities

• Educate store teammates on new baseball-related products using training materials.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage in the Baseball Department.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Support the team across the store with an all-hands-on-deck approach.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of Retail or Team Sports experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to quickly build rapport with baseball players of all experience levels.
• Active involvement in baseball-related activities and strong foundational understanding of the sport.
• Ability to simplify insights when communicating with newer players and build rapport with seasoned athletes.
• Leverage expertise of the game to align athlete's needs to appropriate products.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in coaching or playing in competitive baseball clubs.
• Knowledge of the latest product technology and trends in baseball.
