The baseball ambassador is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated athlete experience specifically to baseball players. This individual will pull from personal experiences and industry research/trends to provide strong product recommendations that align to the athlete's needs. The ambassador meets the athlete where they are in their baseball journey, creating a tailored and unparalleled customer service experience; adapting sales style appropriately and leveraging in-store technology (e.g., HitTrax when applicable and appropriate) to gather data-driven insights that in turn help inform recommendations. The role requires leveraging on-the-field expertise and/or baseball knowledge to provide recommendations that meet the athlete's needs. This includes translating and aligning product technology to the athlete and the position(s) they play (e.g., material of the bats, glove size by position, etc.), contributing to and enhancing the athlete's overall game day experience. The ambassador will fully outfit athletes with appropriate product, equipment, and accessories to equip them for any occasion - from practice/training to game day. On occasion, the baseball ambassador participates in Diamond Sports Universities across the nation to test and learn new products in order to then share knowledge and insights with both teammates and athletes. They will partner with store teammates by regularly utilizing training materials to educate others on new baseball-related products. Additionally, the ambassador maintains merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Baseball Department to Company standards as directed, adheres to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, and maintains confidentiality of all Company information. The ambassador takes an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store and performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Leverage in-store technology to gather data-driven insights for product recommendations.
• Translate product technology to meet the athlete's needs based on their position.
• Fully outfit athletes with appropriate products, equipment, and accessories for various occasions.
• Participate in Diamond Sports Universities to test and learn new products.
• Educate store teammates on new baseball-related products using training materials.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage in the Baseball Department.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Support the team across the store as needed.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of Retail or Team Sports experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong knowledge of baseball and its related activities.
• Ability to build rapport with baseball players of all experience levels.
• Comfortable communicating insights to both new and seasoned players.
• Ability to align athlete's needs with appropriate products.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in coaching or involvement in competitive baseball clubs.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest product technology and baseball trends.
