About the position

The Retail Cashier at DICK'S Sporting Goods is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience. This role involves processing sales transactions, promoting company programs, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all customers and teammates. The Cashier plays a vital role in supporting the store's operations and ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and proactively approach them to understand their needs.
• Process customer sales transactions and returns according to established procedures.
• Promote company programs such as customer loyalty and warranty sales.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of all company information.
• Create an inclusive store environment for teammates and customers.
• Support the team across the store as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
