About the position

The Retail Commercial Property Manager will oversee the daily operations of commercial retail properties, focusing on strip centers. This role is crucial for ensuring properties are well-maintained, financially successful, and meet the needs of tenants and owners. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in retail commercial property management and proficiency in property management software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of multiple retail strip center properties nationwide, focusing on maintenance, profitability, and tenant satisfaction.
  • Handle tenant relations, including addressing requests and complaints, and ensuring lease compliance.
  • Review and standardize leases to ensure a uniform NNN lease structure.
  • Work effectively with national tenants.
  • Negotiate tenant build-outs and oversee modifications.
  • Oversee rent collection and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
  • Maintain records and reports, including onboarding, lease agreements, financial data, and maintenance logs for commercial and residential properties.
  • Negotiate lease agreements, renewals, and modifications with tenants.
  • Conduct yearly reconciliation of NNN expenses.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other service providers.
  • Collaborate with leasing agents to market available spaces and attract tenants.
  • Perform data entry and management tasks using Yardi Breeze.
  • Conduct lease audits and annual escrow reconciliations.
  • Monitor market trends, competition, and regulatory updates.
  • Ensure precise documentation of property management activities.
  • Partner across departments to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property management, with a focus on multi-tenant strip centers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience leading team members, offering guidance and training, and promoting productivity and profitability.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with Yardi Breeze or similar property management software.
  • Data analysis and comparison skills.
  • Ability to interpret legal documentation and clearly communicate details.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, delivering quality results within deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
