About the position

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Retail & Community Engagement Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Surprise, AZ. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our customer service and community engagement efforts, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued. You will have the opportunity to work with a unique menu that features scratch-baked bread, pastries, soups, salads, and sandwiches made from honest, whole ingredients. Your role will involve not only providing exceptional service but also engaging with the community to promote our brand and drive sales through various initiatives. As a Retail & Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests, merchandising products, and assisting with daily operations. You will also play a key role in organizing and leading a team to execute holiday baskets and merchandise, particularly during the busy months of November and December. Your ability to actively listen to guests and suggest meal and gift items will be crucial in creating a memorable experience for both first-time visitors and returning customers. In addition to your customer service responsibilities, you will engage with local schools and organizations to facilitate fundraising events, such as the Knead Dough Fundraiser. You will collaborate with marketing and home office teams to host brand-wide events and individual store events, ensuring that they reflect our brand values and provide exceptional service. Your efforts will help strengthen our community ties and drive gift basket and catering sales through partnerships with local realtors and title companies.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests to the brand.
  • Engage in merchandising and daily basket making.
  • Stock shelves and assist with personal shopping.
  • Manage inventory and maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist front of house restaurant operations when needed.
  • Attend and participate in weekly management meetings.
  • Organize and lead a team to support the execution of holiday baskets and merchandise.
  • Engage local schools for Knead Dough Fundraiser events.
  • Host community partnership fundraising events.
  • Collaborate with marketing and home office for brand-wide events and classes.
  • Facilitate partnerships with realtors and title companies to drive sales.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of customer service/retail experience.
  • Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handler and sanitation standards.
  • Flexible schedule standards to accommodate varying shifts.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
