About the position

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking an enthusiastic Retail & Community Engagement Coordinator who shares our passion for food quality, customer service, and community engagement. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team that offers a unique menu selection, including scratch-baked bread, pastries, soups, salads, and sandwiches made with honest, whole ingredients. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting and welcoming guests, merchandising, daily basket making, stocking shelves, personal shopping assistance, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the store. You will also assist with front-of-house restaurant operations as needed and participate in weekly management meetings. As a Retail & Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for engaging with local schools to participate in Knead Dough Fundraiser events and hosting community partnership fundraising events. You will work closely with the General Managers, District Leadership, Regional Leadership, and the home office team to ensure that store events are successful and reflect our brand values. Additionally, you will facilitate partnerships with local realtors and title companies to drive gift basket and catering sales for the restaurant. This position requires a flexible schedule, as shifts will vary based on customer traffic and seasonal demands, with availability required during peak hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests to the brand.
  • Engage local schools for Knead Dough Fundraiser events.
  • Organize and lead a team for Holiday baskets and merchandise execution.
  • Participate in weekly management meetings.
  • Assist with merchandising, daily basket making, and stocking shelves.
  • Provide personal shopping assistance and manage inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store.
  • Assist front-of-house restaurant operations when needed.
  • Host community partnership fundraising events and brand-wide events.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of customer service/retail experience.
  • Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for this position.
  • Ability to work quickly and learn from mistakes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in restaurant leadership or retail management.
