About the position

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. The Manager - Credit Risk Stress Testing Production position reports to the Senior Director Risk Analytics and leads the team responsible for executing the Bank's Credit Loss stress testing efforts, particularly in retail loss forecasting. This team is tasked with the build-out and execution of the credit loss portions of the bank's annual CCAR Stress Testing exercise, as well as additional runs as needed throughout the year. Furthermore, the team authors the credit loss portions of the annual capital plan and is responsible for maintaining detailed process and procedure documentation consistent with peer best practices and regulatory expectations. The Manager works with leadership to establish and implement best practices within this team, setting current and long-term production/execution priorities. This includes leading day-to-day execution activities, such as production cycles, between-cycle testing, and sensitivity analysis, while ensuring alignment with Bank policies established by the 2nd line Capital Risk Oversight function. The Manager also ensures adherence to all applicable regulatory guidance and industry best practices, aligned to business needs. Additionally, the Manager collaborates directly with the Credit organization to ensure appropriate review and challenge of the results is completed and documented. This leader will manage a team of analysts distributed across multiple locations, focusing on resource planning, team skills development, and administrative planning. The Manager supports the Bank's responses to audit, model risk management, and regulatory examinations for all Credit Risk Stress Testing Activities, coordinating these activities with the Senior Director - Risk Analytics, as well as the heads of Model Development, Model Implementation, and Capital Planning. In partnership with group leadership, the Manager defines and sets strategies to lead the planning and execution of the Bank's Credit Risk Stress Testing programs, recommending appropriate changes to program policies, procedures, and efficiencies to meet objectives. The Manager leads the tactical execution of the Credit Risk Stress Testing, including Annual CCAR, mid-cycle, and ad-hoc runs, and recommends enhancements to processes and procedures to meet Bank goals and regulatory expectations for key processes related to Credit Risk Stress Testing. Furthermore, the Manager leads the team in developing comprehensive reporting and analytical documentation of the results, fostering relationships with the credit risk function to maintain an effective review and challenge process with all relevant stakeholders. The role also involves providing subject matter expert guidance to the Credit Risk Stress Testing team on regulatory expectations, managing the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff, and maximizing department achievements through professional development.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Risk Management or Analytics in the Financial Services industry, and management role OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Risk Management or Analytics in the Financial Services industry, and management role.
  • A minimum of 4 years of direct experience with executing CCAR/DFAST Stress testing, preferably with respect to credit losses, at a $50BN or larger bank.
  • Knowledge of financial risk modeling as well as spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory expectations for Capital Planning and Stress Testing (Capital Plan Rule, SR1519, SR 12-7, ROPE, SR 11-7, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Credit Risk principles which inform credit loss forecasting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with statistical/data software packages such as Netezza, SQL, Python, SAS.
