About the position

As a Retail Customer Experience Associate at Macy's, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience by actively engaging with customers and addressing their needs. Your primary responsibility will be to sell merchandise while providing exceptional service, whether in-store or through virtual selling platforms. This position is designed to drive sales growth and achieve sales goals by leveraging your product knowledge and digital resources to educate customers on making informed product choices. You will exemplify the Own Your Style service model, demonstrating a can-do attitude and a personable approach to customer service. In this role, you will collaborate closely with your peers, particularly the At Your Service colleagues, to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers. You will also connect customers with Personal Stylists when necessary, fostering a personalized shopping journey. Your ability to develop and maintain relationships throughout the store will be essential in problem-solving and creating the best possible outcomes for customers. You will communicate regularly with the Sales and Customer Experience Manager, providing valuable feedback to enhance the overall customer experience. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining department recovery standards, ensuring that the selling floor and fitting rooms are organized and presentable. Adhering to asset protection control and compliance procedures will also be a key aspect of your role. This position requires flexibility in availability, including the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as a commitment to upholding Macy's dedication to diversity, inclusion, and respect in every interaction with customers and associates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by selling merchandise and meeting customer needs in-store or through virtual selling.
  • Leverage product knowledge and digital resources to increase sales by educating customers on product choices.
  • Assist customers in making the best product choices, focusing on size and fit in apparel areas.
  • Promote services using company social media assets and the sales promotion calendar to drive sales.
  • Develop and maintain relationships throughout the store to problem-solve and create the best outcomes for customers.
  • Communicate with the Sales and Customer Experience Manager and provide daily customer feedback.
  • Maintain department recovery standards, including selling floor and fitting rooms.
  • Adhere to asset protection control and compliance procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of selling or retail experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers, and all levels of management.
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
