About the position

As a Senior Customer Experience Colleague at Macy's, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the customer experience by actively engaging with customers and providing personalized service. Your primary focus will be on selling merchandise and addressing customer needs, whether in-store or through virtual selling platforms. This position is designed to drive enterprise-wide cross-category selling, helping to achieve sales goals and foster sales growth. You will embody the Own Your Style service model, demonstrating a can-do attitude and a personable approach to customer service. Your ability to connect with customers and provide tailored recommendations will be essential in creating a memorable shopping experience. In this role, you will utilize your product knowledge to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions, focusing on aspects such as size, fit, and style. You will engage with customers throughout their shopping journey, leveraging digital resources and outreach tools to build and maintain client relationships. Collaboration with peers and store leadership will be crucial as you work to problem-solve and enhance the overall customer experience. You will also be responsible for sharing customer feedback to continuously improve service delivery. Your responsibilities will include using Point of Sale (POS) systems and other store technologies to facilitate sales and fulfill customer orders. You will partner with the store team and community partners to organize and promote both virtual and in-store events aimed at driving incremental sales. Maintaining the selling floor presentation and ensuring that fitting rooms are ready for customers will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will handle the receipt and setup of new merchandise, reconfigure store fixtures for visual presentation, and perform essential store opening and closing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by selling merchandise and meeting customer needs in-store and virtually.
  • Assist customers with product recommendations focusing on size, fit, and style using product knowledge and digital resources.
  • Engage with customers during their shopping journey to build and grow client relationships using outreach tools.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers and store leadership to problem-solve and enhance customer outcomes.
  • Share customer feedback daily to improve the customer experience.
  • Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems and other store technology to assist in selling and fulfilling customer orders.
  • Partner with store team, vendors, and community partners to develop and host virtual and in-store events.
  • Maintain selling floor presentation and ensure fitting rooms are customer-ready.
  • Receive new merchandise and set it up according to visual guidelines.
  • Reconfigure store fixtures for new layouts and visual presentations.
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures, including accessing alarm systems and settling registers.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of selling or customer experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of the products being sold and ability to provide expert guidance to customers.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, via phone, and in person.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and achieve sales goals.
  • Utilize point of sale technology and applications effectively.
  • Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends through Macy's educational resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate with the team to drive sales and enhance customer experience.
