About the position

As a Retail Customer Experience Associate at Macy's, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience by providing personalized service and driving sales across various platforms. This position emphasizes the importance of customer engagement, product knowledge, and collaboration with team members to meet sales goals and create a welcoming shopping environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by selling merchandise and meeting customer needs in-store and through virtual selling.
  • Assist customers by making product recommendations based on size, fit, and style, leveraging product knowledge and digital resources.
  • Engage with customers during their shopping journey to build and grow client relationships using outreach tools and social media.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers and store leadership to problem-solve and enhance customer experience.
  • Share customer feedback daily to improve service and experience.
  • Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems and other store technology to assist in selling and fulfilling customer orders.
  • Partner with store team and community partners to host events that drive sales.
  • Maintain selling floor presentation and ensure fitting rooms are customer-ready.
  • Receive and set up new merchandise according to visual guidelines.
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures, including accessing alarm systems and settling registers.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of products and ability to provide expert guidance to customers.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, via phone, and in person.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and achieve sales goals.
  • Proficient in using point of sale technology and applications.
  • Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends through Macy's educational resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate with the team to drive sales and enhance customer experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 2 years of selling or customer experience preferred.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
