About the position

As a Retail Customer Experience Associate at Macy's, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience by actively engaging with customers and addressing their needs. Your primary responsibility will be to sell merchandise while providing exceptional service, whether in-store or through virtual selling platforms. You will be expected to drive sales growth by leveraging your product knowledge and utilizing digital resources to educate customers on their options, ensuring they make informed choices regarding size and fit, particularly in apparel. This position embodies the Own Your Style service model, requiring a proactive and personable approach to customer service. In addition to direct sales, you will collaborate with your peers, especially those in the At Your Service team, to create a seamless shopping experience. Building strong relationships throughout the store will be essential for problem-solving and achieving the best outcomes for customers. You will also communicate regularly with the Sales and Customer Experience Manager, providing valuable feedback to enhance the overall customer experience. Maintaining department recovery standards, including the selling floor and fitting rooms, is also part of your responsibilities, along with adhering to asset protection control and compliance procedures. Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by selling merchandise and meeting customer needs in-store or through virtual selling.
  • Leverage product knowledge and digital resources to increase sales by educating customers on product choices.
  • Assist customers in making the best product choices, focusing on size and fit in apparel areas.
  • Promote services using company social media assets and the sales promotion calendar to drive sales.
  • Develop and maintain relationships throughout the store to problem-solve and create optimal outcomes for customers.
  • Communicate with the Sales and Customer Experience Manager and provide daily customer feedback to improve the customer experience.
  • Maintain department recovery standards, including the selling floor and fitting rooms.
  • Adhere to asset protection control and compliance procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of selling or retail experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers, and all levels of management.
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
