About the position

As a Senior Customer Experience Colleague at Macy's, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the customer experience by actively engaging with customers and providing personalized service. Your primary responsibility will be to sell merchandise and meet customer needs, whether in-store or through virtual selling platforms. You will be expected to drive enterprise-wide cross-category selling, aiming to achieve sales goals and contribute to sales growth. This position embodies the Own Your Style service model, requiring a proactive and personable approach to customer service. You will utilize your product knowledge to make informed recommendations, focusing on aspects such as size, fit, and style, while leveraging digital resources like product descriptions and customer reviews. In addition to direct customer interactions, you will engage with customers throughout their shopping journey, fostering and growing client relationships through elevated outreach tools, including My Client and social media. Collaboration with peers and store leadership is essential, as you will work together to problem-solve and enhance the customer experience. Daily sharing of customer feedback will be crucial in creating a better shopping environment. Your role will also involve using various store technologies, including Point of Sale (POS) systems and client acquisition systems, to facilitate sales and fulfill customer orders. You will partner with the store team, vendors, and community partners to develop and host both virtual and in-store events aimed at driving incremental sales. Maintaining the selling floor presentation according to company directives and ensuring fitting rooms are ready for customers will be part of your responsibilities. You will also assist in the receipt and setup of new merchandise, reconfiguring store fixtures for upcoming themes, and performing store opening and closing procedures, including managing the alarm system and settling registers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by selling merchandise and meeting customer needs in-store and virtually.
  • Assist customers by making product recommendations based on size, fit, and style, leveraging product knowledge and digital resources.
  • Engage with customers during their shopping journey to build and grow client relationships using outreach tools and social media.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers and store leadership to problem-solve and enhance customer outcomes.
  • Share customer feedback daily to improve the customer experience.
  • Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems and other store technology to assist in selling and fulfilling customer orders.
  • Partner with store team, vendors, and community partners to develop and host events that drive sales.
  • Maintain selling floor presentation and ensure fitting rooms are customer-ready.
  • Receive and set up new merchandise according to visual guidelines.
  • Reconfigure store fixtures for new layouts and visual presentations.
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures, including alarm system access and register settlement.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of the products being sold and ability to provide expert guidance to customers.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, via phone, and in person.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and achieve sales goals.
  • Utilize point of sale technology and applications effectively.
  • Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends through Macy's educational resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate with the team to drive sales and enhance customer experience.
