About the position

At Marshalls, we are dedicated to creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. As a leader in our store, you will be responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience while overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store. Your role will involve ensuring prompt and courteous customer service, as well as actively promoting our loyalty programs. You will lead by example, engaging with customers and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Your commitment to outstanding customer service will be crucial in creating a positive experience for both internal and external customers. In this position, you will play a vital role in fostering a culture of honesty and integrity, while also maintaining confidentiality. You will take an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front-end principles, ensuring they are equipped to personalize the customer experience and effectively promote loyalty programs. Additionally, you will be responsible for assigning registers, supporting POS coverage needs, and coordinating breaks for all Associates. Addressing customer concerns promptly will be essential to ensuring a positive shopping experience. You will also ensure that Associates execute tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed. Effective communication with management and Associates will be key in setting and addressing priorities, as well as providing progress updates. Recognition and constructive feedback will be part of your leadership style, as you partner with management on Associate training needs to enhance effectiveness. Adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures will be a critical aspect of your role, as will promoting credit and loyalty programs and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs. Safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment will also be part of your responsibilities, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Promote an excellent customer experience.
  • Oversee a team of Associates at the front of the store.
  • Ensure prompt and courteous customer service and promotion of loyalty programs.
  • Engage and interact with all customers, maintaining a clean and organized store.
  • Model outstanding customer service.
  • Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
  • Promote a culture of honesty and integrity; maintain confidentiality.
  • Train and mentor Associates on front-end principles.
  • Coach Associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs.
  • Assign registers and support POS coverage needs; coordinate breaks for all Associates.
  • Address customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritize as needed.

  • Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising techniques.
  • Capable of multi-tasking.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Able to train others.
  • 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
