About the position

As a Retail Customer Experience Coordinator at TJ Maxx, you will play a pivotal role in promoting an excellent customer experience while overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that customers receive prompt and courteous service, while also actively promoting loyalty programs. This position requires you to lead by example, engaging and interacting with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, which is essential for enhancing the shopping experience. In this dynamic role, you will create a positive internal and external customer experience by fostering a culture of honesty and integrity. You will take an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front-end principles, ensuring they are equipped to personalize the customer experience effectively. Your leadership will extend to assigning registers, supporting POS coverage needs, and coordinating breaks for all Associates, ensuring smooth operations at the front end. Addressing customer concerns and issues promptly will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you strive to ensure a positive customer experience. You will also ensure that Associates execute tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed. Effective communication with management and Associates will be crucial as you set and address priorities, providing progress updates as necessary. You will be expected to provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback, fostering a supportive team environment. Additionally, you will partner with management to identify Associate training needs, promoting adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures. Your role will also involve promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting store shrink reduction goals, and maintaining a safe environment for both customers and Associates. Other duties may be assigned as needed, contributing to the overall success of the store.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritize as needed
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provide progress updates
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback
  • Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs
  • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs
  • Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Available to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Strong understanding of merchandising techniques
  • Capable of multi-tasking
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Able to train others
  • 1 year retail experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience
