About the position

The Retail Customer Experience Coordinator at TJ Maxx is responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience by overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store. This role involves engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and leading by example in customer service. The Coordinator plays a key role in training and mentoring Associates, ensuring adherence to store policies, and promoting loyalty programs while contributing to a positive internal and external customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote an excellent customer experience by overseeing a team of Associates.
• Engage and interact with customers to maintain a clean and organized store.
• Model outstanding customer service and lead by example.
• Train and mentor Associates on front end principles and customer experience personalization.
• Assign registers and coordinate breaks for Associates while supporting POS coverage needs.
• Address customer concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience.
• Ensure Associates execute tasks according to store plans and prioritize as needed.
• Communicate effectively with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
• Maintain a safe environment and promote safety awareness.

Requirements

• 1 year of retail experience
• 6 months of leadership experience
• Strong understanding of merchandising techniques
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and respond to changes in direction or unexpected situations
• Team player capable of training others
