About the position

The Retail Customer Service Specialist at DICK'S Sporting Goods is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences by creating a welcoming shopping environment. This role involves assisting customers, providing product knowledge, and ensuring high standards of service and store presentation. The specialist serves as the primary customer service provider at the front end, supporting cashiers and management while promoting a culture of inclusivity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and proactively approach them to understand their needs.
  • Serve as the primary customer service provider at the front end and act as a liaison between customers and management.
  • Provide register coverage and support cashiers through complex transactions.
  • Assist the manager with department scheduling and daily associate assignments.
  • Monitor Front End associates to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established guidelines.
  • Promote and provide training on company programs to new and current teammates.
  • Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
  • Create an inclusive store environment for teammates and customers.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer-focused experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work extended periods of time standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
