About the position

The Store Manager at M&D Supply Ace Hardware is responsible for leading a high-performance team focused on superior financial performance and customer loyalty. This role emphasizes developing a unique store culture that sets the company apart from competitors. The Store Manager will oversee various operational activities, including hiring, training, budgeting, and conflict management, while reporting directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Educate, inspire, and lead a high-performance team.
• Develop an annual financial plan for resource allocation and monitor variances.
• Recruit, identify, screen, and select qualified applicants for open positions.
• Facilitate the learning of job-related knowledge, skills, and behavior.
• Develop goals and strategies to coordinate operational activities.
• Recognize and respond to incompatible differences between employees and customers.
• Administer corrective action when employees fail to meet requirements.
• Evaluate employee performance and assist with performance reviews.
• Plan and conduct one-on-one meetings and staff meetings.
• Train team members on new policies and procedures.
• Administer safety programs and develop employee schedules.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• 6 months to one year in related fields and/or previous management experience.
• Ability to obtain Forklift certification and LP gas certification.
• Skills in active listening, complex problem solving, judgment and decision making, service orientation, and critical thinking.
