About the position

The Retail Customer Service Supervisor at TJ Maxx is responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience while overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store. This role emphasizes customer service, training, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The Supervisor leads by example, engages with customers, and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures, contributing to the overall growth of the team and the store.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive customer experience and oversee a team of Associates.
• Engage and interact with customers to maintain high service standards.
• Train and mentor Associates on front end principles and customer service.
• Assign registers and coordinate breaks for Associates while supporting POS coverage needs.
• Address customer concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Ensure Associates execute tasks according to store plans and prioritize as needed.
• Communicate effectively with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
• Provide recognition and constructive feedback to team members.
• Partner with management to identify Associate training needs.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
• Maintain a safe environment and promote safety awareness.

Requirements

• 1 year of retail experience
• 6 months of leadership experience
• Strong understanding of merchandising techniques
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
• Team player with the ability to train others
