About the position

The Retail Department Coordinator at Sierra Trading Post is responsible for leading the frontline team to ensure a highly-satisfied customer experience while promoting customer loyalty. This role involves training and mentoring associates, maintaining operational standards, and adhering to company policies. The coordinator will work in various areas of the store, ensuring a welcoming and engaging environment for both customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Promote a highly satisfied customer experience and drive customer loyalty.
• Train and mentor associates on register transactions and company policies.
• Address customer concerns and issues promptly.
• Maintain cash controls and monitor frontline equipment.
• Ensure cleanliness and organizational standards throughout the store.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention policies.
• Promote a safe environment by reporting safety hazards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in customer service and employment & labor law.
• Supervising experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy merchandise with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a coordinator or in a retail/supervisory role.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
