About the position

The Retail Services Worker plays a crucial role in the Nutritional Services department by assisting in the preparation and delivery of meals and food products for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for maintaining the café, operating the Micros system, and adhering to cash handling procedures while ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food utilizing standardized recipes and safety guidelines in a timely manner
• Ensure all food and/or supplies are ready for service at established times
• Ensure that all food being held for service is within established temperature ranges, recording temperatures every two hours and correcting items not in proper temperature
• Assure adequate supply of all food items for sale and also an adequate supply of stock, both food and non-food
• Maintain an efficient pace in the café, including cashier duties, cleaning, restocking, and preparing the café for the upcoming meal period
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Previous retail experience
• Cooking or prep-cook experience or other related fields
