About the position
The Retail Footwear Sales Associate at House of Sport by DICK'S Sporting Goods is responsible for creating an exceptional shopping experience for customers. This role involves engaging with customers, maintaining store presentation standards, and promoting company programs while fostering an inclusive environment. The associate plays a critical role in supporting the team and ensuring that athletes are equipped to achieve their dreams.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and proactively approach them to understand their needs.
- Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established guidelines.
- Promote company programs such as customer loyalty and warranty sales.
- Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
- Create an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and respected.
- Support the team across the store as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer-focused experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs repetitively.
- Ability to work extended periods of time standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using a ladder or aerial lifting device.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
- May be required to submit relevant state mandated clearances to supervise minors.
