The Retail FP&A Analyst position at Atrium is a vital role within a dynamic and forward-thinking luxury retail company based in Manhattan. This position is designed for a skilled financial analyst who will be responsible for analyzing retail financial performance, managing budgets, and providing strategic recommendations to optimize profitability and growth. The Retail FP&A Analyst will develop and maintain financial plans for retail operations, analyze sales data, and support the budgeting and forecasting processes. This role requires collaboration with various departments to provide actionable insights that drive retail performance and business strategy. In this role, the Retail FP&A Analyst will be tasked with developing and maintaining detailed financial plans and forecasts for retail operations, which include sales, inventory, and operational expenses. The analyst will analyze financial performance metrics, sales data, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks. Additionally, the analyst will prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and performance summaries to senior management, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of the financial health of the retail operations. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Retail FP&A Analyst will work closely with retail managers and other stakeholders to understand financial performance and recommend strategies for improvement. The analyst will also assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, monitor and analyze key financial indicators such as sales growth, margin performance, and inventory turnover, and support the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting needs. Furthermore, the analyst will evaluate and recommend improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial plans and forecasts for retail operations, including sales, inventory, and operational expenses
  • Analyze financial performance metrics, sales data, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and performance summaries to senior management
  • Collaborate with retail managers and other stakeholders to understand financial performance and recommend strategies for improvement
  • Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Monitor and analyze key financial indicators, such as sales growth, margin performance, and inventory turnover
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting needs

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within a retail environment
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial planning software (SAP preferred)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the capability to convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
