About the position

The Lead at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while providing direction and support to teammates. The Lead is responsible for fostering a people-first culture, ensuring effective team collaboration, and maintaining company merchandising standards. They assist in training and developing teammates, uphold safety and operational procedures, and contribute to a positive store environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and support teammates in their roles.
• Execute brand standards and ensure compliance with merchandising and presentation guidelines.
• Assist in training and onboarding new teammates, as well as cross-training existing staff.
• Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the guidance of store management.
• Foster a people-first culture by building trust and respect among teammates.
• Lead by example and provide hands-on coaching to teammates on company procedures and programs.
• Maintain confidentiality of company information and adhere to safety and loss prevention policies.
• Support the store leadership team with general supervision and operational tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to work extended periods standing or walking for up to 4 hours.
• Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial lifting devices.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time.
