About the position

At Office Depot and Office Max, the Solutions Advisor-Key Carrier is a full-time role that provides comprehensive solutions to our customers, encompassing Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about building customer relationships and becoming trusted advisors by leveraging their training in technology products and services. The associate will engage with customers proactively, utilizing proven sales principles to drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction in every interaction. In this role, the associate will also be responsible for training Sales Advisors and other associates within the store on technology products, selling behaviors, and services. Successful completion of training in Tech, Print, and other applicable areas is expected, including any required certifications. As a Key Carrier, the associate will act as a Leader on Duty in the absence of other supervisors or management, ensuring that the store operates smoothly and effectively. The position requires a commitment to exceptional customer service, where the associate will educate customers about Office Depot products and services, evaluate customer needs, and provide tailored solutions. The associate will also support various store operations, including cashier duties, inventory control, and maintaining store cleanliness. Continuous personal development in selling skills and product knowledge is essential, as is compliance with company policies and loss prevention efforts. The associate will also be involved in merchandise-related activities, ensuring that presentation guidelines are met and that promotional materials are updated accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Key Carrier and Leader on Duty activities.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire associates while fostering a culture of trust and exceptional client service.
  • Proactively acknowledge and engage every customer to ensure a positive experience.
  • Utilize the selling program to promote the sale of the best solutions and additional products/services.
  • Evaluate customer needs to determine additional offerings or services required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by educating customers about Office Depot products and services.
  • Request assistance on the sales floor and coordinate appropriate service and customer engagement.
  • Support the store with cashier duties, logistics support, stocking, inventory control, and cleaning.
  • Develop personal selling skills and specialized product knowledge through provided tools.
  • Drive sales in Technology, Tech Services, Furniture, and Print by supporting current programs and new product launches.
  • Train and coach new/existing associates on new products and selling programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and support loss prevention efforts.
  • Perform merchandise-related activities to meet presentation guidelines and implement plan-o-gram changes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or relevant experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, specifically in sales and/or customer service.
  • Knowledgeable in the Technology and Print areas.
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach, and manage others in a professional environment.
  • Strong selling skills and interpersonal communication skills necessary for establishing customer relationships.
  • Adaptability to a changing environment and ability to coach and train others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use technology and print equipment applicable to the role.
