About the position

The General Manager at Hudson Group is responsible for overseeing multiple retail stores, managing a team of 25-30 employees, and driving sales and profitability in a dynamic travel retail environment. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills to align business activities with the company's strategic goals while ensuring a positive work atmosphere and high customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing business activities and local relationships to boost sales and profits.
  • Managing all shops in line with the company's short and long-term goals.
  • Working with the Regional Manager to set revenue, expense, and profit targets, as well as inventory levels for the shops.
  • Creating weekly and monthly action plans based on leadership meetings.
  • Reviewing sales targets for each shop, category, and brand compared to previous periods and the budget.
  • Leading the Terminal/Store Manager's team.
  • Monitoring and controlling costs, taking action when necessary.
  • Building strong relationships with Airport authorities.
  • Coordinating and implementing the SIP.
  • Ensuring a positive work environment in all shops.
  • Matching staffing levels to customer flow (Shift Planning) and reviewing staff performance.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and setting goals.
  • Managing the P&L for the operation.
  • Analyzing monthly KPIs, income statements, and balance sheets, and controlling exchange rates.
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain, Commercial, and Marketing teams to ensure proper store levels, assortments, and marketing support for maximum sales and profit.
  • Promoting Dufry as a brand within the shops and ensuring high customer service standards.
  • Working closely with ACDBE Partners and their management team to provide operational reports and obtain annual certification.
  • Contributing to a positive work environment through professional interactions with co-workers, customers, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or above
  • Retail experience with at least 3-5 years in high level management
  • Multi-store management experience
  • Knowledge of the retail or consumer goods industry
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and motivate employees
  • Good knowledge of travel retail concepts
  • Previous capital project management experience
  • Experience in managing multi-unit/multi-category retail business
