About the position
As a Retail Golf Equipment Sales Associate at Golf Galaxy, you will play a vital role in enhancing the shopping experience for our customers who are passionate about golf. Our store is dedicated to providing exceptional service, and as a member of our team, you will be expected to embody this commitment. You will greet customers warmly and proactively engage with them to understand their needs, ensuring that they receive the best possible assistance during their shopping experience. Your in-depth product knowledge will be crucial in helping customers find the right equipment that suits their golfing abilities and preferences. In addition to customer interaction, you will uphold the company's merchandising and presentation standards. This includes following established floor sets, managing signage requirements, executing price changes, and maintaining inventory presentation and replenishment standards. You will also promote various company programs, such as customer loyalty initiatives, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment, to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction. Safety and confidentiality are paramount in our operations. You will adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety and loss prevention, ensuring that all company information remains confidential. Creating an inclusive environment is also a key aspect of your role, where you will foster a welcoming atmosphere for both teammates and customers, treating everyone with respect and dignity. Your responsibilities will extend beyond sales; you will take an all-hands-on-deck approach to support your team across the store, contributing to a collaborative work environment. Other tasks may be assigned by management, and your flexibility and willingness to assist wherever needed will be essential to our team's success.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and proactively approach them to understand their needs.

Requirements
- Prior retail experience preferred.
- Golf industry experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
