About the position

The Retail Golf Equipment Sales Lead at Golf Galaxy plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while providing guidance and direction to team members. The Lead is responsible for fostering a people-first culture, ensuring effective team collaboration, and maintaining merchandising standards. This role also involves training new teammates and supporting store leadership in daily operations, all while creating an inclusive environment for both teammates and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support the store's vision.
  • Provide direction and guidance to teammates to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Assist in building and hiring a strong team through in-store interviews and tours.
  • Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the Assistant Store Manager.
  • Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards.
  • Assist with training and onboarding new teammates and cross-training current teammates.
  • Coach and develop teammates, explaining the rationale behind tasks and processes.
  • Create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and safe.
  • Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
  • Golf experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs repetitively.
  • Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial devices.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within retail or customer service.
  • Knowledge of golf equipment and accessories.
