About the position

The Key Carrier role at Sierra Trading Post is a leadership position that extends the responsibilities of a Coordinator. Key Carriers are essential in maintaining store operations, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring adherence to company policies. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including nights and weekends, and involves acting as Manager on Duty when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the role of Coordinator and occasionally act as Key Carrier, taking on leadership responsibilities.
  • Model exceptional customer service and create a positive experience for customers.
  • Promote a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Act as Manager on Duty, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the store team performs tasks according to the store plan and prioritize as needed.
  • Address immediate customer service issues and provide coaching to Associates.
  • Exercise discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers.
  • Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure Associates adhere to all operational procedures.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures according to company guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback to Associates.
  • Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
  • Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of merchandise flow in stores.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Able to effectively coach, delegate, and follow up on multiple tasks.
  • Capable of multi-tasking under challenging circumstances.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
