About the position

The Retail Key Holder at GameStop plays a crucial role in supporting the store management team by executing and supervising store activities. This position focuses on delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment, and driving sales through product knowledge and customer engagement. The Retail Key Holder is responsible for ensuring that products are accessible, fostering guest loyalty, and managing various operational tasks to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class guest service by greeting guests and addressing their questions and concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, to nurture guest relationships that lead to sales.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, ensuring top-notch service.
  • Promote GameStop's unique guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
  • Ensure all areas of the store are clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines.
  • Complete Omni-Channel orders daily and safeguard company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices.
  • Conduct store inventory counts and restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures as needed.
  • Support store management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals, and complete required administrative duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and report any issues to management.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
  • Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including all policies in the Associate Handbook and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Exceptional guest service skills and ability to provide friendly assistance to every guest.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Basic math skills and alphabetizing skills are required.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work as a team to complete necessary tasks in a timely manner.
  • Problem-solving skills and judgment abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred.
