About the position

The Retail Manager 3 position at Sodexo involves overseeing day-to-day operations at Howard University’s high-volume quick service retail locations and food truck. The role focuses on managing and inspiring teams to deliver top culinary performance and achieve high student satisfaction scores. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent customer service and operational management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations in multiple food retail venues.
• Deliver high-quality food service while engaging with students.
• Lead and mentor frontline teams in cash handling and operational processes.
• Train and manage department HACCP Safety Programs and daily operation standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and customers.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of food management experience with a focus on front of the house retail operations.
• Previous supervisory experience and strong employee engagement leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of POS systems and cash handling management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate professional communication skills.
• Experience promoting national brands in a campus environment is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Catering/banquet management experience.
• Prior experience in retail sales or store operations.
