About the position

The Retail Manager, Operations at American Freight is responsible for overseeing the store's warehouse and delivery operations, managing inventory processes, and ensuring the overall operational efficiency of the store. This role supports the Store Director in achieving sales, margin, expense reduction, and profit goals, and assumes the Store Director's responsibilities in their absence. The position emphasizes fostering a strong team culture and operational excellence within the store.

Responsibilities

• Role models behaviors for all members of their assigned District Team.
• Owns and promotes the Code of Conduct and maintains American Freight cultural values across all team members.
• Manages the warehouse team to ensure proper staffing and execution of backroom standards.
• Manages the delivery team to ensure compliance with delivery regulations and efficiency of delivery services.
• Responsible for execution of all daily store operational activities and ensures all Activity Planner tasks are completed on time.
• Accountable for minimizing shrink and damage expenses through strong operational processes.
• Maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counts and fulfillment processes.
• Oversees the shipping and receiving process for all product movements within the facility.
• Trains and coaches team to minimize product damages and employee accidents.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or operations management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to analyze operational metrics and implement improvements.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Experience in the furniture or home goods retail industry.
