About the position

The Operations Manager at American Freight is responsible for overseeing the store's warehouse, delivery organization, and inventory processes. This role supports the Store Director in achieving sales, margin, expense reduction, and profit goals. The Operations Manager also assumes the Store Director's duties in their absence, ensuring operational excellence and a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the store warehouse and delivery organization.
• Support the Store Director in achieving sales and profit goals.
• Oversee daily store operational activities and ensure completion of tasks.
• Minimize shrink and damage expenses through strong operational processes.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and manage online order fulfillment processes.
• Train and coach the warehouse and delivery teams to minimize damages and accidents.
• Ensure compliance with delivery regulations and manage delivery metrics.
• Create scheduling policies for warehouse staffing and delivery routes.
• Manage in-store Human Resources processes including staffing and training.
• Ensure store presentation standards are maintained.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a Warehouse Lead or Sales Lead.
• Experience with retail sales, inventory management, and shrink prevention.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong leadership, coaching, and associate development skills.
• Computer literacy, with Excel/Word/Handheld Unit experience preferred.
• Knowledge of retail business and store operations.
• Experience with Physical Inventory Processes preferred.
