About the position

The Operations Manager (OM) at American Freight is responsible for overseeing the store's warehouse, delivery organization, and inventory processes. This role supports the Store Director in achieving sales, margin, expense reduction, and profit goals. The OM will also assume the Store Director's duties in their absence, ensuring operational excellence and a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the store warehouse and delivery organization to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Drive sales and operational execution by modeling behaviors for the District Team.
  • Ensure proper staffing and execution of backroom standards in the warehouse.
  • Oversee the delivery team to ensure compliance with company processes and delivery regulations.
  • Execute daily store operational activities and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
  • Minimize shrink and damage expenses through strong operational processes.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and fulfillment processes.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving processes, including Purchase Orders and product movement.
  • Train and coach team members to minimize product damages and accidents.
  • Assist in achieving business goals related to revenue, customer satisfaction, and profit.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Lead or Sales Lead.
  • Experience with retail sales, inventory management, and last-mile delivery preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule of at least 45 hours a week, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
