About the position

The Retail Market Manager I at Investar Bank is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering retail banking markets, focusing on sales growth, employee development, and exceptional customer service strategies. This role provides operational support across various banking sectors, including Retail, Business Banking, Treasury Management, and Operations, while also leading branch managers and serving as a branch manager for assigned locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategies for sales growth and employee development in retail banking markets.
  • Provides operational support for Retail, Business Banking, Treasury Management, and Operations.
  • Directs activities of assigned branch managers and serves as branch manager for assigned location.
  • Assesses, develops, and coaches staff to support long-term business goals and customer service.
  • Collaborates with Retail Market Manager II to deepen customer relationships through sales efforts and cross-selling.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial data for accuracy and operational insights.
  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and bank policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Retail Banking environment required.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sales in a community bank environment.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of banking products and ability to recommend changes for competitiveness.
