About the position

The Retail Marketing Director at Sun Theory is a strategic role focused on driving in-store sales and enhancing brand performance across retail channels. This position involves crafting impactful customer experiences, leading the development and execution of marketing initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solidify Sun Theory's position as a leading wellness brand in the cannabis and hemp industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of captivating in-store experiences, branded merchandising, and impactful promotional campaigns that drive sales.
  • Manage strategic partnerships with key retail accounts, including dispensaries, e-commerce platforms, and other third-party channels.
  • Spearhead joint marketing initiatives, co-op advertising, and channel-specific campaigns in collaboration with retail partners.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on consumer trends, retail performance, and competitive landscape to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee the execution of retail promotions, product launches, and seasonal activations across all channels.
  • Develop effective retail training programs to educate store associates on Sun Theory's product portfolio and brand positioning.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all retail-related sales requests, inquiries, and logistics.
  • Establish and maintain retail merchandising guidelines to ensure brand consistency across all touch points.
  • Continuously optimize the retail strategy based on quantitative and qualitative performance data.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in retail marketing, brand management, or channel sales, ideally within the consumer packaged goods, cannabis, or wellness industries.
  • Proven track record of driving incremental sales growth and enhancing brand visibility through innovative in-store experiences and marketing campaigns.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrable expertise in developing and executing successful retail partnership programs, joint marketing initiatives, and co-op advertising campaigns.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with sales, merchandising, operations, and creative teams.
  • Keen understanding of consumer behavior, emerging retail trends, and omnichannel marketing best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers at all levels.
