About the position

The Retail Merchandise Coordinator at Marshalls is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring efficient processing by associates. This role focuses on providing an excellent customer experience, maintaining store organization, and training team members. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing situations and work collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Execute receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring efficient processing by associates.
  • Engage and interact with customers to ensure an excellent customer experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Model exceptional customer service for associates and customers.
  • Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize merchandise processing onto the sales floor.
  • Train and mentor associates on merchandising and processing principles.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
  • Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
  • Monitor team productivity and provide coaching as necessary.
  • Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
  • Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
  • Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs.
  • Communicate effectively with management and associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
  • Partner with management on associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs and support store shrink reduction goals.
  • Maintain a safe environment and promote safety awareness.

Requirements

  • 1 year of retail experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience
  • Superior communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to changes in direction
  • Team player capable of working effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Capability to train others
