About the position

The Retail Merchandise Processor at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona plays a crucial role in enhancing customer experience and driving sales by efficiently processing donated merchandise. This position involves receiving, pricing, and preparing items for sale while ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies. The processor is expected to maintain a clean and organized work environment and contribute to the overall success of the store team.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and processes merchandise, including pricing and ticketing, meeting minimum quota and sell-through set for assigned department.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
  • Safeguards company property, including donated goods, and reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession.
  • Understands that all donated merchandise is the property of GCNA and cannot be given away.
  • Maintains sales floor and work station by following floorwork and PPM standards.
  • Stocks merchandise in the appropriate area as assigned.
  • Cross-trained in all processing departments as needed.
  • May transfer or work in various processing departments based on business needs.
  • Inspects donated merchandise, analyzing quality and determining proper category, size, and cleaning.
  • Informs leader of any potentially hazardous materials found during processing.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety rules and uses appropriate safety equipment.
  • Models Goodwill Core Values: Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.
