About the position

The Retail Merchandiser (2nd Shift Attendant) at Five Star Breaktime Solutions is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing the merchandising of food and beverage items within the Volkswagen manufacturing plant. This role involves driving a box truck to transport goods, stocking shelves, and ensuring cleanliness and organization in the service areas. The position requires a motivated self-starter who can work independently and handle various tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Taking customer orders and accurately preparing food on the grill.
• Preparing and serving food items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Assisting with incoming deliveries and helping to put items away.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and service stations.
• Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Handling customer inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
• Responsible for merchandising items such as soft drinks, coffee products, and snacks within the manufacturing plant.
• Replenishing market and vending items, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and collecting cash/coins.
• Rotating stock to ensure first-in and first-out product utilization.
• Assisting management with communication to customers about new products or services.
• Setting up merchandise and sales promotion displays and issuing promotional materials.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change.
• Lift and carry 50lbs+ on a repetitive basis, with the ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Consent to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Follow workplace safety policies and guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to drive a company box truck or other assigned vehicles.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
